Getting it done

Busy as a bee....

We enjoyed our Memorial Day weekend.  It was our first EVER Memorial Day NOT to go to Lake Cherokee.  My boss had his annual crawfish boil but I was a little under the weather so Leven ended up going for a little while without me.  We knew having an 8 week old that we weren't planning on getting Dad's boat out this year and getting out in the crowd at the island.  It honestly felt weird not doing all of it.  But again, it was kind of nice.  We did go over to our friends house for a little pool party on Sunday after church for the kids to swim and for the parents to relax and visit and chow down.  Us ladies are all slowly making some improvements on our diets but we all need to get more SURIOUS! At least that's what we keep saying.  I know I will eventually get it off, it will just take time.  It's not just going to fall off in 8 weeks.  So I'm not going to stress over it.

Last night Molly, Chrissy and I had the opportunity to record our song "Battle Hym of the Republic" that we sang in church a couple of years ago.  Our choir has recorded several CD's in the past and this CD is all the "favorites!"  So we were honored our song got chosen.  It was a little nerve racking doing the recording because it's all a cappella.  So if one of us messes up, then it messes the other two up. Yikes! It took us almost 2 hours to get it finished.  I can't wait to hear the final product.
And while I was singing my little heart out, Leven was talking his heart out. Carthage had their athletic banquet last night with all the varsity sports together.  The picture below is some of Leven's volleyball girls.  He tells his girls to have volleyball on their minds ALL the time and they show up with their volleyball tights under their dresses.
The cutest thing EVER!

AAAAAAAAAAAAA Chooooo

Who gets a dang cold in the middle of May------ ME!
I am so sick of having to blow my nose.

Taydem had her Tball party last night and it ended up turning into some what of a practice.  We found out that we are going to make up one of our games that we missed from bad weather.  We will be playing the Ranger's again.  They were the only team that beat us so I guess it's our turn for revenge.  But again folks, it's just tball!

Trever is still get to umpire quite a few games because of all the make up games.  The older kids get to make theirs up.  I guess there's are a little more important :)! So usually he drops in to say hello.  I took of picture of the three kiddos last night before he headed out!
Big age differences, huh?
And this here is my beautiful niece, Macy, on her Prom Night!
We wish they lived closer to us.

Cutie Pies

Isn't she the cutest thing EVER??
(I know she's mine..!)
Taydem's first year of playing any kind of "ball" has come to an end. Her last game was played on Saturday.  She loved it, but is ready to play next year where there is NO TEE! They are having an "End of the Year" party tomorrow evening.  Her school year is almost over.  :( Baby Girl is growing up.

Taydem hates to disappoint me.  And she hates when she gets in trouble.  Sometimes I think I'm too hard on her.  This morning after taking her medicine, she forgot to put the lid back on the medicine bottle and reached into her backpack for something and then knocked over the medicine and it fell to the floor and spilt everywhere.  I didn't even say anything.  The look on her face said it all.  She was scared to death.  It kind of made me sad.  She was scared to death of ME! She started looking for something quickly to clean it up and was saying she was sorry over and over.  I have to remind her and MYSELF all the time that accidents DO happen.  She just hates to make me upset.  Poor thing!

Us girls weigh in tonight and take our measurements.  Hopefully, just hopefully, I've made some progress on my weight loss. Saturday and Sunday some of us went up to the track and ran bleachers and did some bootcamp type stuff.  It's so much easier when you have a support system.

Happy Monday

Diets are for the birds

Did I tell you I'm on a diet?  Really for the first time in my life!! I've always just watched what I've eaten and worked out.  But I need to lose 25 lbs so I need to do something drastic.  A bunch of us that live in Tatum have decided to weigh every Monday and measure ourselves every two weeks.  We will do this for 6 weeks and if we get results we will continue.  We also keep a journal of what we eat for the day and every Monday we trade journals with someone.  So the first week of doing this, I gained 1 pound...figures.  I'm not going to get discouraged.  I'm just going to keep what I'm doing and do better over the weekends.  Pray for us all :)

Over the weekend Taydem had a pretty big spot come up on her face.  I thought she got bit by an insect or something so I doctored it up and we put a bandaid on it.  By Monday she had 4 more spots appear on her face.  Long story short- Infantigo! It's going around her school so I just assumed that's what it was.  Sure enough I took her to the doctor and I was right.  If something is going around that school, I promise my child will get it! I'm just glad we got some antibiotics before it got worse.

My sister's girls

 Infantigo strikes!
Tenlee already knows who her crazy Momma is!
I am constantly in her face making noises and silly faces.
She loves it!

Rainy Tuesday

We had lots of rain blow in last night and this morning headed to work was still pretty wet.

Trever has finished with Panola College.  And I'm sure he is so happy about that.  He will head back to Palestine this summer to live with his mom and work at the YMCA.  He and Leven head to Lubbock at the end of May to get him registered for classes, attend orientation and look for a place to live.  I still can't believe he will be that far away from all of us.  But I'm so proud of him for wanting to get out on his own.
Texas Tech will be a blast for him!!

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact this school year is almost over.  Taydem is getting better and better with her reading, but still struggles some.  She is awesome in math and is super creative and loves art.  Right now she looks like a jack-o-latern because tons of her teeth are missing! It cracks me up everytime I look at her.

Tenlee's first day at daycare was a success.  They said she did really good! Last night she slept like a champ.  She went down about 10:00 and woke up at 4:30! Whoo-hoo.  Leven got up with her at 4:30 and let me keep sleeping.  I'm fully rested today and it feels amazing!

 Baby girl is all smiles!
This is my favorite.  I love when she falls asleep on my chest!

While I was out, Easter came and went! Love family time
Taydem's school took a trip to the Tyler Zoo! She had a blast
Aunt Terri and Misti came to visit us and brought lots of goodies for the girls! We love and miss her

Back at it...........

....work that is.

Oh wait...I forgot...I RECENTLY HAD A BABY!!

Today Tenlee is 6 weeks old.  Can you believe it? I haven't blogged not one time since I've been on maternity leave.  It's been a really wonderful 6 weeks being home with Tenlee but I'm actually happy to be back at work!

She was born on Monday, March 31 at 6:58 pm.  They broke my water about 7:30 that morning but baby girl didn't want to show her face.  Just like Taydem, it took all day for me to start dilating.  But once I hit the 7 mark, I began pushing less than an hour later.  I'm not sure if you remember, but Taydem had the flu during all this and she had been staying with my parents.  Well I was worried sick about her right before I began pushing.  I wanted my mom in the room with me so my friend Natalie had Taydem earlier that day.  But right when Tenlee was about to come, Taydem was being tossed around and I didn't know where she was or what was going on.  I started having a panic attack (I'm guessing that's what it was!).  Once I found out my dad took her home with him I began to calm down a little.  (Taydem OR my mother didn't hold Tenlee until like a week after she was born.  We wanted to make sure they weren't going to get baby girl sick. Yes, it killed my mother!! Thank the Lord we have them close by to help out when needed.) But they still had the oxygen mask on me to help with my nerves.  Something else weird happened...my right hand went stiff on me.  I literally could not move it.  It felt paralized and it freaked me out...another reason for the oxygen.  Also my mouth was numb and I couldn't talk...weird weird feeling.  Again, more oxygen.  My mom and my sister were the best!! My mom never stopped rubbing my hand and talking to me and my sister was counting like a champ! She was also constantly putting a wash cloth on my forhead.  They were my cheerleaders.  You ask, where was Leven? Well I think he was freaked out by watching me freak out.  Earlier that day while getting my epidural, he was in the room and it was not good.  It took them over 30 minutes to get it in and it didn't work.  I was in so much pain and it was killing Leven.  So 2 hours later they were giving me another epidural.  I told Leven not to stay with me that time.  Again, it took about 30 minutes (yes, I cried...well tears were falling!) but this time it worked.  And it was lovely! So while I was pushing, Leven stayed behind all the action.  I pushed for about 15 minutes, about 7 good pushes and out she came! She came out with her eyes open! It was the craziest thing.  She was so alert and still today at 6 weeks she is alert.

She's a really good baby. Loves to smile. Loves when you talk to her. Never cries unless she's hungry or tired.  And she already knows who her Momma is.  The Sweetest.Thing.Ever!!

Taydem adores her.  She's my little helper.  Actually more like my BIG helper.  Taydem get this, Taydem get that.  So glad I waited 6 years before having another one.

I have my 6 weeks doctor check up this afternoon.  My body is back to normal EXCEPT the extra 20 pounds I still need to lose.  This is going to be a challenge for me! Grrrrrrr!
