Happy Anniversary

My parents have been married for 38 years now!! WOW....that's a long time to be married to one person. Leven and I have a long way to go....

I know everyone always says this, but my parents really are the best parents any child could have. I have learned so much throughout my 30 years and I continue to learn from them every day. I still call my mom every time I have a questions about something I want to cook, when Taydem has a certain cough I'm worried about, if Leven is driving me crazy and I just need to vent, what flowers to plant in my flowerbed, any "woman" question, etc. The questions never stop. And I'm so thankful that I have a mother and a daddy that I can still call on. They raised us 4 kids pretty well (I think!) and taught us at an early age to keep GOD and FAMILY first ALWAYS! And us 4 continue to do this every day. Our family is growing bigger and bigger and my parents are the perfect Nana and Papa to our kids! It's so great. Another thing that I think is great, is I know not only do us 4 kids look up to my parents but tons of family members and our friends look up to them as well. Really really good example of a husband and wife! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! We ALL love you so much!

Work it

Trever is now 16 and is finally working!! That is something I am so thankful for my parents teaching us at a young age....work work work! It makes you appreciate life a little more. Kids these days stick out their hands and expect money to be given to them ALL the time. I have been telling Leven for a really long time now...TREVER IS NOT A LITTLE BOY ANYMORE...MAKE HIS BUTT WORK! We all did it growing up. Yes, I played sports, was involved with my church and other activites in school and I still managed to get some hours in a week working. There is nothing wrong with being a hard worker. So...with all that said, I got Trever a job at Jucy's. This is where my sister and I worked all through high school and we worked there when we came home from college during the Christmas and Summer breaks. Trever has friends that have been filling out application after application looking for jobs...but thanks to my brother Dustin, I called him up and asked to get Trever on the schedule ASAP! His first night was last night! He said it was pretty cool. He said he gets his food 1/2 off...(haha, that's all he could think about! Food is all he ever thinks about!). I think once he gets his first check, he will appreciated it a little more. Of course, all his girlfriends drove up there last night to check him out. One of them sent me a picture of him hard at work! Very proud of him! 

His solo debut

Trever's choir put on their Pop Concert Friday night. He gets so into choir...I just love it! Leven on the other hand isn't a big fan. But this year he got extremely brave and decided to sing a solo. The place was sold out. We were all so nervous for him. I was sweating I was so nervous for him. The night before at dress rehearsal he kept messing up  the words. I didn't realize this song had SO many words in it. WOW! But let me just tell you....first time to ever sing a solo...he was a natural. I was so proud of him. I even had tears flowing! It's really hard getting up in front of a crowd and singing (just from experience, ha!), but he was so comfortable. The kid never gets embarressed about anything. We are so PROUD!

My oldest brother, Dustin,  married into the "Jucy's Hamburger" family and so he and his wife are in charge of running all 5 restaurants. Here recently they have put out three TV commercials and Dustin is the one singing the "Jingle" at the end! Check it out! It's on their website. If you are ever in East Texas, it's a must to stop by and have a big burger with a FREE bowl of pinto beans! To die for!!

Happy Momma's Day

Yesterday for Mother's Day I had to sing in all three church services so that made for an extra long day since I had to get up at 6:00am! When I got home after the last service, Leven and Trever were cleaning the house! Awwww...Taydem was helping a little bit too. We spent all afternoon at my parents house eating and visiting and eating some more! The kids got in the COLD pool (they didn't care at all!). Overall it was a really pretty day and loved chatting with my family....I was pooped last night!
