Fun fun fun

This past weekend Leven and I went up to North Dallas for a little R&R together. We wanted some time alone to celebrate our 4th anniversary. We have some friends that live in Plano and stayed with them on Saturday night, but we spent Friday night in Addison. We love this area so much. If we lived there I would be fat and broke!! We started out the night eating at Mi Cocina Mexican Restaurant. I have eaten at the one in uptown Dallas and wanted to take Leven to this one. I was a little disappointed. Leven didn't like his food that much at all. We both chowed down on the queso and guacamole dip~ they were both super!! After that we headed over to Duke's to catch some of the ranger game. After that stop, we went to Pete's Piano Bar! This is one of my all time favorite places. I love music so much and to see men sit behind a piano and sing and crack jokes is oh so fun!! Leven and I have been to the Pete's on 6th street many of times, but this one was just as fun! Really fun atmoshphere. We ended the night at Sherlocks and danced to the band that was playing there! Saturday we drove into Plano and met up with Lucas and Aliya. They are the sweetest couple! We did some swimming at some of their friends place and went out that night. And, danced~danced~danced! My camera died or I would've had more pictures!! Overall.....A+ weekend!

Shout out to my love

Leven really got screwed when it comes to his birthday! Every year his birthday falls on or around Father's Day AND our anniversary is 3 days before his birthday! So I wanted to take this time to tell him how much I love and appreciate him. (I know he will read this!) He is incredibly awesome at being a coach. I love looking at his facebook page and seeing all of his old players and students saying hi to him. They ADORE him! And so do his two children.....Trever is step for step with Leven and always has been. They have a really special bond between the two of them. Taydem thinks Leven has hung the moon. She loves him to death. She knows Daddy is there to play and to make her giggle. If Momma gets on to her or if she hurts herself, Daddy is the first word that comes out of her mouth. She knows he will always protect her. I love you to the moon and back Leven! Thank you for continuing to make me laugh every day (even when you have made me mad and I don't want to laugh) and loving me!!

Arkansas

pooped......

This past weekend was probably the longest weekend I have had in a long time. We loaded up Thursday morning and headed to Mena, Arkansas for a little R&R with the family. We had food, drinks, games, 4-wheelers, music, etc to last us for 4 days. Once we got into Mena we stopped by the local Wal-Mart store to load up on goodies! The only time I have ever been to Arkansas was in the 4th grade with the Maxey's. So it's been awhile, huh? It's actually very pretty where we were and we were getting more and more excited about it as the winding roads went. We finally made it to our cabin around 4 and began unpacking. We loved our cabin-very rustic. But there was NO TV, NO phone service so of course NO internet! We knew we were going to get very close to everywhere there. That night we played games, ate chili dogs and laughed at all the kiddos playing! (My aunt and uncle were there as well with all their kids and grandkids). So far so good...............

Friday morning I woke up to Taydem throwing up. Hmmmm I thought.....I told myself she just ate too much junk food the night before (which she did). She seemed to have felt better afterwards. So we headed down to the river to watch the guys pitch horseshoes and to swim a bit. I took her back to the house for a little nap and she threw up again. Hmmmm I thought.........she really ate a lot of junk last night. The rest of the day Leven, Mom, Molly and I took turns staying with her in the cabin while everyone else was outside doing their thing. She was a sick little girl. She for sure had a stomach bug. So that night I stayed up with her all night long. She eventually spent the rest of the night dry heaving. And I watched the sun come up! Wow....pooped! She has never been sick with a stomach bug and I have never had to deal with it. I was worn smooth out come Saturday morning. This wasn't really what I had in mind for a mini vacation. It actually sucked for us! We decided to leave on Saturday b/c we knew she wasn't getting any better and I wanted to get her in her own bed. Plus I didn't want to get anyone else sick. The drive home really didn't take that long. She seemed to be getting better the closer we got to the house. Then we get home and she sleeps for hours. She went to bed that night with 101 temperture. Ugh! She slept most of the day on Sunday as well and her fever finally broke that afternoon. Now she won't EAT! She's so afraid she's going to throw it up! I swear the girl has lost 10 pounds. I just pray that no one else gets sick from her.

This weekend Leven and I are headed to Dallas to finally celebrate our anniversay a little ALONE! We are going up on Friday for some R&R and then staying with some friends on Saturday.

sweet summertime

we spent another weekend outside around some water! we were on the lake ALL day saturday and it showed the next morning. poor little taydem's face got burnt. dustin and darin brought their boys out there later in the day to let them swim and then mom and dad joined up for some hot dogs!

on sunday we all got together at the 'rents house to help danin and eric address ALL their wedding invitations. no offense to danin (bc she knows it's true), but she writes probably worse than a 3rd grader!! while we addressed the envelopes the kids swam and the men watched a little of the college world series. mom made the best dinner EVER (chicken spaghetti)! and i make the best dessert EVER (Death by Chocolate) !!

bummed out as of right now.....

Yes, I'm bummed! I'm actually upset, pissed, sad, frustrated and TIRED over this dang oil spill! At first it didn't seem like a big deal. I just assumed they would clean up the mess they made. But now, we've had to cancel our trip to Gulf Shores because of it! I've been waiting for this trip all spring. I couldn't wait to see Taydem running and playing in the sand. I couldn't wait to get my beach chair and lay out all day in the sun reading and sipping on my drink! Dang BP! Can you only imagine what the person responsible is feeling right now???

So now what can we do for a vacation this summer? Sucks!

Memorial Weekend

Loved the sun we had this weekend! We spent ALL day Saturday at the lake with family and friends. Danin's friend Jeni and her two gal friends drove up from Houston to spend the weekend with us. Leven's buddies Mark and Patrick also drove up to hang out. We couldn't have asked for prettier weather. Yes, it was hot alright but we got our white bodies a little darker. We played volleyball pretty much all day until we finally lost. We stayed on the lake until the sun went down. Sunday we went back out on the lake until Taydem and I were comletely pooped. We came in a little earlier than everyone else and headed to mom and dad's for some more relaxation! We swam in the pool, at a wonderful supper and visited! On Monday we did NOTHING and that was wonderful! We layed around the house until it was game time. Leven's girls are playing in a summer volleyball league where they play every Monday for 5 weeks. I'm coaching the younger ones. Last night we didn't leave the gym until 10! Welcome to our life!
