Freaky

Last night Leven and I got FREAKED out! It was about 10:15 and I had already started to dose off and Leven was watching TV. All of a sudden we heard this man talking really really loud. At first I thought it was Trever yelling at someone on his cell phone. Leven sat up and asked me if I could hear that! (I guess he thought he was hearing things, ha) But it was sooooooooo loud. I can't even describe how loud it was. We figured out that it was the TV blarring in the game room! We still don't have a clue how it got turned on. You have to turn the DVR, surround sound, and TV on with three different remotes. And it just suddenly turned on??? Weird. We both sat up and looked at each other with chill bumps running down our bodies. Leven finally got up and checked it out. Of course, everything was fine, but what the heck? How did all three of those things get turned on and the sound cranked up? Spooky let me tell ya!

Just a swingin

These two pictures were taken EXACTLY a year apart!

Birthday'd OUT!

My nephew Truitt turned 5 last week and he had his birthday party yesterday at Chuckie Cheese! I thought he was 4! I even bought a birthday card saying Happy Birthday to the 4 year old! How embarrassing. It's so hard to believe that all these kids are growing up. He was just a little baby. So Happy Birthday TRUITT!
Other than Truitt we had 2 more birthdays this past weekend to attend! We went to another 5 year old's birthday, Cole! Cole's momma, Natalie, and I work together and have become really good friends. And then our friend Curt turned the big 3-0 on Friday so we all went bowling to celebrate! So fun. Everytime I bowl I forget how fun it really is. And let me brag just a little bit. I won 3 out of the 4 games. The first two games were just against Leven and yes I beat him TWICE! The next game was against 5 others and I beat ALL of them, ha! Here are a few pics from that night.

I feel so blessed of what the Lord has given me every day. I never want to take anything for granted.

-I am thankful for Leven. I know that God put me in Mexia for a reason. It was to fall in love with a man and his son and for us to take care of each other. He makes me laugh EVERY single day (even when he knows I'm mad at him), is a wonderful daddy, caring, works hard at his job and loves changing the lives of kids while doing what he loves, coaching!
-I am thankful for Trever. I've enjoyed watching him grow over these past few years and I hope one day he will appreciate everything that I do for him. He makes me proud!
-I am thankful for my sweet baby girl. She is seriously the best thing ever! Since day one, she's been nothing but an easy child for Leven and I. She adores her daddy, watches her "Bubba", and loves her mommie to death! She is a little me and I love watching her every day. She has a sweet smile and a huge heart!
-I am thankful for my parents who have shown me love from day one and continue showing me love for myself and now my family.

-I am thankful for my brothers who are both wonderful daddy's and hard working men who take care of their families.
-I am thankful for my the sister-in-laws and the way they love and adore their children and I feel blessed to call them my family.
-I am thankful for my sister. She is my best friend. She's the one that knows all my secrets and I know hers! She's my twinky these days and a second mom to Taydem! I love her dearly.
-I am thankful for my extended family who live everywhere! We were all raised very close to each other and have always known that family comes first. I would do anything for any one of them.
-I am thankful for my grandparents.
-I am thankful for my "new" family since being married! I enjoy spending time with each of you and learning more and more about Leven's childhood and where he came from. Thank you for taking me in!
-I am thankful for my friends. Each day it gets harder and harder to stay close to them, but we always make it work. They are also the ones that know tons of secrets and will always be there. I wish we could always be together!
-I am thankful for my beautiful home, the cars we drive, our church, our jobs, our HEALTH, and more importantly, a God that loves me.

Lalalala Lalalala it's Elmo's World!

Last night we got tickets to go see Elmo and friends over in Shreveport at CenturyTel! The past few days I kept telling Taydem that we were going to see Elmo, but I knew she couldn't understand what I was talking about. We were late getting there and it was MY fault. I'm never late, but I didn't manage my time well. Trever asked me to take him to the soccer game when I left and I was thinking it would take like 3 minutes. Yea, well it took me more almost 15 minutes to take him. So that put me behind. My aunt and my cousin and her two kids were waiting for us at CenturyTel so we were trying to drive as fast as we could. Ugh! We finally got there about 7:10 and the show started at 7! But the kids really liked it. Maddox, Jaxon, Tay and Tucker were dancing away. Taydem kept her eyes on "Melmo" the entire time. When he left the stage she was wanting to know where he went. I was really pooped by the time we made it back home. I feel like I'm overloaded right now with too much stuff.

And he scores..........

Trever's basketball season is coming to a close. He has really done well this year and is growing as he plays every sport. Next up: BASEBALL Season! The other night he had to write a litature essay for a major grade. We don't have a printer at the house so he typed it up and I saved it and sent it to my work email so I could print it off for him. I was so proud of him after I read it. He really did a good job writing that paper! Trever works really hard in everything that he does and it shows. And I might add, he's turning into a really handsome young man.

So tired

this past weekend was my first volleyball tournament with my team. it was very tiring and i was worn out by the time we got home last night. we had a good time with lucas and aliya and we thank them again for letting us stay the night. but the tournament was crazy. we were not prepared at all. i have 8 girls on my team and only 2 of them have ever played club. NONE of them have ever played at the varsity level. so our first game was ugly, very ugly. my poor girls got beaten down physically and mentally and were ready to give up. they didn't realize that these teams we were playing had probably been playing together since they were 12! so the first day of pool play I don't think we scored past 10 except in one game. there's still so much these girls need to learn. and the first thing is how to be competitive. i hate when girls pout and sull up during a game. so childish! i've been pretty nice so far, but i'm afraid after this week, they won't like me much! but i'm tired of them being babies out on the court. i'm here to make them better, right?

we play again this weekend, again in dallas somewhere! i hope to have a better report after this one.
